Port Lavaca's Drive-to Fishing

When the winds of December come strongly...

Strong winter northers blow the water out of coastal bays. In December of 2005, two very strong northers just a few days apart brought the lowest water levels seen in Lavaca Bay in several years. Reefs and other fish attracting structure become visible during these brief episodes of extremely low water. Armed with a GPS and camera, fishermen can locate prime fishing areas for later visits when such conditions occur.
